  • April 30th, 2008:
    Deadline for abstract submission (see below)
  • July 1st, 2008:
    Deadline for special accomodation conditions (cf. the Accomodation page)
  • July 15th, 2008:
    Deadline for payment of reduced conference fee (if registered before!)
  • August 29th, 2008:
    Deadline for submission of manuscripts.

Abstract Submission (obsolete!)

All participants who wish to contribute to the Symposium are asked to electronically submit a one-page abstract before April 30th, 2008. All abstracts will be collected in a volume that will be handed to each participant at registration.

Abstracts can be submitted by filling in the web form. Only poster contributions can be accepted after April 30th, 2008!

There will be oral and poster contributions in the Symposium. A limited number of main talks (duration 30 minutes) and the other oral presentations (duration 20 minutes) will be selected by the Advisory and Programme Committee from contributions whose abstracts will be received not later than April 30th. Notification of the selected oral or poster presentations will be communicated to the authors by the end of June.

Information on Presentations (obsolete!)

Oral presentations are limited to 20 minutes (including discussions). Invited talks are limited to 30 minutes (incl. discussions).

Each lecture hall is equipped with a laptop (with MS Windows) and a beamer. Presentations can have ppt or pdf format (we kindly ask you not to use printed transparencies for your presentation).
Microsoft Office or Adobe Acrobat will be available in the latest versions 2007 or 8.0 respectively. The laptops are capable to handle USB sticks and CD/DVD. Files on floppy disks or other media can be copied to these media if neccessary (but at least one day before your talk is scheduled! Please contact us, if you are unsure!)

There will be the possibility to test if your presentation file works properly. How will be announced here soon.

Information on Conference Proceedings

The proceedings of the conference will be published by AIP. Detailed instructions for authors as well as templates in LaTeX or MS Word are available online at: http://proceedings.aip.org/proceedings/authors.jsp where you should select the 6 x 9 inch format. The manuscripts will be collected during the time of the conference 25-29th August 2008. Invited talks will have up to 8 pages, oral contributions will have up to 5 pages, and poster presentations will have 2 pages.
