Floorplan of the first cellar with the 10 MV accelerator system and indicated AMS beamline, modifiedfrom the phD thesid "Ein dediziertes Beschleuniger-Massenspektrometer für mittelschwere Radionuklide am Kölner FN-Tandembeschleuniger", M. Schiffer. (2017) .
The AMS setup is dedicated for medium mass radionuclide measurements. It consists of an acromatic injectior with a fast injection system and a high energy mass spectrometer with a 90° analyzing magnet followed by a multi faraday offset cup chamber. The isobar separation will be done with an isotope specific multi step energy loss measurement with combinations of silicon-nitride foils, a 30° electro- static analyzer, a 4 m time-of-flight system and a gas ionization detector. Additionally a 135° magnet was installed to gain higher transmissions for measurements like 60Fe
