Series 2

Brimstone is second in command in the team of evil rocks, directly behind Magmar. He consists of a foul smelling combination of sulphur and rock.

Stone: A fouling, smelling combination of sulphur and rock.
Weapon: The Torcher

"Brimstone's scheming intellect makes him a deadly foe. Brimstone is always ready to step in for Magmar and take command. Brandishing The Torcher, his flame throwing weapon, he laughs wickedly as he charges fearlessly into battle."

Card variations

Brimstone was released in different ways in different countries. On the european continent, Brimstone was released in a BANDAI box, in England and the USA on a Tonka card. Generally, the boxed Rock Lords are harder to find. In Japan, Brimstone was released in a special Box under the Name "Bloodyrock".

Variations

There are no variations of Brimstone known to exist. In Japan, Brimstone was sold as "Bloodyrock".

Prototypes

This picture, taken from an early australian promo comic, shows a prototype of the Brimstone figure. It obviously has a design that strongly differs from the final figure : the color is completely different, the front design also (there was supposed to be a pop-out head with one eye, and eating teeth on the chest), and his name was not going to be Brimstone, but "Pulver-Eyes", while the Pulver-Eyes figure was going to be called "Rockmite".

Here we really have a strong difference between the first design of the figure and the final, released version. Bandai re-worked the design of the figure completely, probably making the teeth on the chest would have been too difficult to achieve, or would not have looked good in rock mode. We'll probably never know ...
